Redwoods

The dominant tree is lighted much like the walls of southwest slot canyons. Direct light hits the bark of the foreground trees, reflecting red light onto red wood of the center tree. The foreground trees go gray because they are in shadow, illuminated only by cyan light filtering through the forest canopy, and this provides additional impact to the photo.
