This girl is one of several people who operate the loom at La Purisima Mission. This photo reveals the loom receding into darkness while indirect light from the north door puts soft, diffuse light on the girl. Her apparent ease and confidence on the loom structure describes her familiarity with the loom. There is, somehow, a simple elegance here which I haven't yet been able to define.
